MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Morrisville State College athletics department has announced its weekly award winners, naming lacrosse student-athletes Gianna Branca (Camillus, N.Y.) and Chad Temple (Minoa, N.Y.) it’s Mustang Athletes of the Week for the week ending April 22.

Branca led Morrisville State to a 2-0 week within conference play, netting 11 goals and assisting four more for 15 points.

She began the week with five goals and an assist to record her 100th Mustang score against Cazenovia, adding three ground balls and seven draw controls to her tallies, while causing two turnovers.

On Saturday Branca added six more scores and three assists to her week totals, as she shot 83.3% on goal, collecting a ground ball and four additional draw controls, while recording two caused turnovers.

The senior also went 3-for-5 in free positions, and currently leads the conference in goals (50), assists (48) and points (98).

A graduate of West Genesee High, Branca is majoring in nursing at Morrisville State. She is the daughter of Joy Anthis and Carmen Branca of Camillus.
