MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Morrisville State College Athletic Department has announced its weekly award winners, naming sophomore Kelly Brennan (Sauquoit, N.Y.) and Mick Keilan (Berlin, N.Y.) it's Mustang Athletes of the Week for the week ending October 9.
Brennan posted the lone tally in a 1-0 victory over Bryn Athyn on Sunday, as the women's soccer team picked up a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) win. Brennan's tally came at the 53:02 mark as she split two defenders within the 6-yard box to post the unassisted goal.
A graduate of Sauquoit High, Brennan is majoring in dairy management at Morrisville State. She is the daughter of Jane and Matthew Brennan of Sauquoit.
Keilan earns athlete of the week accolades following a shutout victory in net for the men's soccer team as they captured a 2-0 win over Bryn Athyn College on Sunday.
In the contest he made two point blank stops in the second half and another critical fingertip grab to keep the Lions scoreless and secure his third shutout of the year. Keilan had nine total on the day.
A graduate of Shaker High, Keilan and is majoring in individual studies at Morrisville State. He is the son of Janet and Edward Keilan of Berlin.
