Campbell, Hall named Mustang Athletes of the Week  


MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Morrisville State College athletic department has announced its Mustang Athlete of the Week award winners, tabbing basketball student-athletes Alexis Campbell (Buffalo, N.Y.) and Brison Hall (Syracuse, N.Y.) for the weekly award based on their performances for the week ending Dec. 17.

Campbell led the Morrisville State women in a non-league match up with cross town opponent Utica College, netting 18 points while collecting five rebounds and three assists.

In the contest Campbell collected 15 of her points in the second half, as she shot a game total 7-of-9 from the floor (77.8%), while sinking 3-of-4 from the free throw line. Of her five rebounds, three came on the offensive glass.

The freshman is a graduate of the Buffalo Academy for Visual & Performing Arts and is majoring in individual studies at Morrisville State. She is the daughter of Antoinette Walker and Malik Campbell of Buffalo.

Hall averaged 12.5 points and 5.5 rebounds across two games for the Mustang men in a 1-1 week in non-conference action.

On Saturday he came off the bench to post 10 points and snag five rebounds, while collecting a steal and registering two blocked shots in the non-league win over Canton. In the contest he hit 5-of-7 from the floor.

He followed with a 15 point performance in the loss to Delhi, adding six rebounds, an assist and another blocked shot. Hall grabbed four of his game total rebounds off the offensive glass, and hit 6-for-11 in the contest, while nailing all three attempts from the free throw line.

The graduate of Nottingham High is majoring in business administration at Morrisville State. He is the son of Shari and Brian Hall of Syracuse.
