MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Morrisville State College sophomore Lexus Hoppes (Lehighton, Pa.) placed third overall in the novice horsemanship class at the national semifinals held in Hamburg, advancing to the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) National Championship Finals in May.
Hoppes, one of 16 riders in the novice class, advanced to Sunday's competition round where she earned third place overall and the opportunity to compete for a National Title at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington May 4th through 7th.
Alysha Hardy (Orange, Mass.) also advanced to Sunday's competition round in the intermediate class, but finished sixth overall as only the top four from each class advance to the national finals.
Morrisville State had six total riders qualify for the national semifinals who competed against 10 other IHSA regions from the United States and Canada.
