MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Three Morrisville State College hunt seat equestrian riders took home blue ribbons Saturday, and another three finished in second in their respective classes at the Hartwick Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) invitational held in Oneonta.
Morrisville State compiled 24 points across the show, finishing second overall. Skidmore was high point team with 45, followed by Hartwick with reserve honors after tallying 38 team points.
Nicole McAuliffe (Schenectady, N.Y.) and Phoebe Leger (New Paltz, N.Y.) each took home top rides in their respective sections of the novice equitation on the flat class, while teammate Rebecca Dominic (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) topped the field in the beginner walk, trot, canter class.
Morgan Wilsberg (Mattituck, N.Y.) turned in a second place ride in the open equitation over fences class, as Sarah Simmons (East Northport, N.Y.) was second in the novice equitation on the flat class.
Megan Hunsinger (Cato, N.Y.) also finished second for the Mustangs, in the novice equitation over fences class.
Morrisville State will host the final regular season scheduled show Saturday at the Fearon Road riding arena, before traveling to Skidmore for the Regional Championships on April 2.
