Hunt seat equine riders have eye on IHSA Regional Championships

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Morrisville State College hunt seat team completed the regular season competition schedule as reserve champion with 266 points and will send six qualifying riders to the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Zone 2, Region 3 Championships held Saturday, April 2nd at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs.

The following will be representing Morrisville State on Saturday at Regionals:

  • Megan Hunsinger (Cato, N.Y.) – novice equitation over fences
  • Morgan Wilsberg (Mattituck, N.Y.) – open equitation over fences/open flat
  • Lindsey Kubisek (Bethel, Conn.) – novice equitation over fences
  • Kaitlyn Guthro (Mannsville, N.Y.) – walk trot
  • Taylor Jurek (Perry, N.Y.) – walk trot canter
  • Kayla Titus (Staten Island, N.Y.) – novice equitation over fences

Aside from the team standings, Wilsberg finished third overall among 23 open equitation class riders in the Cacchione Cup standings after finishing the year with 75 points.

The top two riders from each competing class will advance to the Zone Championships held at Saint Lawrence University on April 9th.
