Morrisville State announces 2017 football schedule

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Morrisville State College released its 2017 football schedule, which includes six home contests, including four in the month of September.

The Mustangs kick-off their fifth season under the direction of head coach Curt Fitzpatrick (19-22 overall, four seasons) Saturday, September 2nd against Norwich University on Drake Field in a non-conference battle in a first ever meeting between the two programs.

Following a bye week in week two of the season, Morrisville State will host Empire 8 opponent Buffalo State on the 16th in the conference schedule opener, before turning around and hosting non-conference opponent Nichols College on the 23rd for a third straight home contest.

The Mustangs will wrap up September, hosting Union College on the 30th during the college's "Mustang Weekend" (homecoming).

Morrisville State will hit the road for two straight, including a Saturday, October 7th Empire 8 battle at Hartwick College, before taking on Brockport State on the 14th at the Golden Eagles home turf.

Cortland State will roll into the Mustang Valley on the 21st for the lone home contest of the month on Drake Field, before the 'Stangs hit the road once again, traveling to Alfred University on the 28th.

The Mustang squad will play host to Fitzpatrick's alma mater, St. John Fisher College, on Saturday, November 8th in Morrisville State's home finale, before concluding regular season play on the 11th at nearby Utica College.
