MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Morrisville State College sophomore quarterback, William Flatow (Mamaroneck, N.Y.) has been named the Empire 8 Football Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon, following his performance that led the Mustangs to a 35-28 win over St. John Fisher College Saturday.
The sophomore, in just his second collegiate start under center, competed 19-of-27 passes for 276 yards and five touchdown scores in the contest, averaging 10.2 yards per completion.
His efforts rallied the Mustangs late in the fourth quarter, leading to the program's first league victory on the season. On the game winning drive, Flatow completed three passes for a gain total of 45 yards, including a 17-yard scoring strike with 1:16 to go for the win.
A graduate of Mamaroneck High, he is majoring in business administration at Morrisville State. He is the son of Caroline Smith and Jon Flatow of Mamaroneck.
