MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) announced its selections to four post-season Bowl Championships Monday afternoon, selecting Morrisville State football for the 2018 James Lynah Bowl on Saturday, November 17.
The Mustangs (6-4 overall, 5-3 Empire 8) will face Grove City College out of the Presidents' Athletic Conference. The Wolverines finished with a 7-3 overall record on the regular season, going 6-3 within the PAC.
"I am very happy for our players, especially our seniors," said head coach Curt Fitzpatrick, who has guided the Mustangs to two Bowl selections under his tutelage. Morrisville State defeated Utica College 52-14 Nov. 22, 2014 in the North Central Football Bowl Championship, the year prior to meeting the Pioneers in Empire 8 action.
"Any chance you get to play just one more game is well worth it. I am thankful that the ECAC provides these opportunities for these guys to make lifelong memories."
"Grove City is a very good football team and a worthy opponent. We know that it will be a challenge, but one that we are excited to take on."
Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m. in Grove City, Pennsylvania at Robert E. Thorn Field. Additional details will be announced once made available.
