MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Morrisville State College freshman goalkeeper, Meredith Koziol (Waterford, N.Y.) has been named the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office Tuesday, for the week ending October 24.
Koziol posted a 0.94 goals against average and a .867 save percentage while recording 13 saves and a shutout victory in 149 minutes of action between the pipes last week.
She tallied three saves to preserve a 1-0 victory over Wilson College Sunday, including two stops in the second half of action to force the overtime period and ultimately secure the shutout.
Earlier in the week she made 10 stop in the loss to Brockport on Friday, ranking her second overall in the NEAC in saves with 128 on the season.
The freshman is a graduate of Shenendehowa High. She is the daughter of Brigette Hamel and Phillip Koziol of Waterford.
