Hunt receives ECAC weekly honor, named DIII North Rookie of the Week

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Morrisville State College freshman midfielder, Emily Hunt (Harpursville, N.Y.) has been named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Corvias North Division III Field Hockey Rookie of the Week as announced by the ECAC on Tuesday.

Hunt had the game winning goal in a 1-0 overtime decision over Nazareth last Wednesday.

Her score came four minutes into the extra frame off a deflection to the left post where she converted the sweep for the goal and season ending win.

Hunt wrapped up her first season with five points on two goals and an assist for the Mustangs.

A graduate of Harpursville High, Hunt is majoring in health related studies at Morrisville State. She is the daughter of Mary Strollo of Harpursville.
