Gamlen, Richmond named to NFHCA National Academic Squad

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Zag Field Hockey / National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) announced its Division III National Academic Squad selections Thursday, selecting Morrisville State College student-athletes Holly Gamlen (Cazenovia, N.Y.) and Leila Richmond (Eden, N.Y.) to its 2016-17 team.

The National Academic Squad includes all student-athletes with a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or greater through the first semester of the academic year.

Gamlen and Richmond were two of more than 1,600 student-athletes to earn the accolade across the division.

In addition, 208 student-athletes were recognized with Scholar of Distinction honors, including Gamlen, who achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.90 or greater through the first semester.

This is the second straight year Gamlen has been honored by the NFHCA for her academic excellence in the classroom.
