MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Morrisville State College head field hockey coach, Allison Beardsley, announced the addition of Jessica Franklin as assistant coach for the upcoming 2017 season.
Franklin comes to Morrisville State from Oberlin College, where she served as assistant coach for the Yeowomen in 2016.
No stranger to the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC), Franklin served as an assistant coach for two seasons at conference rival SUNY Oswego. While at Oswego, she was responsible for the recruitment of student-athletes, along with executing coaching responsibility and functions in day to day operations.
Franklin played four seasons for nearby Utica College as a forward, where she played a key role in assisting the Pioneers to two Empire 8 Conference Championship Titles, along with two appearances in the NCAA Tournament, reaching the Sweet Sixteen each time.
A 2014 graduate of Utica with a bachelor of science degree in liberal studies, Franklin is currently pursuing her master of arts degree in library and information science at the University of Buffalo.
Morrisville State opens the 2017 season Saturday, Sept. 2nd, hosting non-conference opponent Castleton University on the Mustangs Drake Field.
