MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Morrisville State College men's basketball team picked up a 77-64 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) victory Saturday, as they downed the visiting SUNY Cobleskill Fighting Tigers to earn the conference win.
The victory is the seventh on the season for the Mustangs, who up their record to 7-4 overall, 3-0 in conference play, while Cobleskill drops to 1-10, 1-2 in NEAC action.
Trent Ward (Auburn, N.Y.) and Ibrahima Toure (Brooklyn, N.Y.) paced the Mustangs with 23 and 22 points, respectively, while Toure collected the double-double adding 12 rebounds to his tallies on the day.
Joe Hulbert (Duanesburg, N.Y.) netted 12, while assisting five others to add to the win.
Cobleskill's Garrett Pitcher and Brian Jackson each tallied 14 to lead the Fighting Tiger efforts, while Frank D'Esti added 12 to round out the leader board.
Morrisville State held the 41-33 advantage on the glass, and forced 15 Cobleskill turnovers.
Morrisville State held the slim 38-32 lead at the break before pulling away in the second half to collect the win.
The Mustangs return to the court Wednesday, traveling to Keuka College before returning home Saturday to face heavily NEAC favored Lancaster Bible College.
