Dennis gets nod on All-Region First Team  


MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – has announced its All-Region Team selections Monday, selecting Morrisville State junior forward Kevin Dennis (Bronx, N.Y.) to its All-East Region First Team.

The junior was a two-time selection to the National Team of the Week following his performance on the court this season, and earns recognition for a second time in his career on the All-Region Team after being named the Rookie of the Year in 2017.

Dennis, a three-time North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) first team selection, was key to the Mustangs success on the season with his dominating play in the paint, leading them back to the NEAC regular season and championship tournament title. The Mustangs also made their second appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament this season.

Dennis started all 28 games for the Mustangs at forward this season, averaging 20.9 points and 14.4 rebounds per game, as he shot 65.8% from the floor.

The forward averaged 27.0 minutes per game on the court, netted a total 585 points, including 151 from the free throw line, while snagging 404 total rebounds off the glass. More than 130 were grabbed off the offensive boards, as he also assisted 24 and blocked a total 38 shots.

Dennis led the NEAC in total field goals (217), field goal percentage, free throws, offensive and defensive rebounds (271), along with total rebounds (404) and points. He is second overall in scoring at 20.9 points per game.

The forward currently holds the top spot in the NCAA Division III in double-doubles, recording 24 across the season, while ranking in the top 10 in four additional statistical categories. Dennis is ranked second overall in defensive rebounds per game and total rebounds per game, while raking fourth in offensive rebounds (4.75) per game and eighth in field goal percentage.

Dennis grabbed a season high 32 rebounds against SUNY Poly, and still remains the individual high for rebounds in a single match across all of Division III on the season.

Dennis is a five-time Player of the Week selection for the NEAC, two-time selection this season and two-time USBWA National Player of the Week honoree.

The graduate of Harry S. Truman High is majoring in criminal justice at SUNY Morrisville. He is the son of Monique Davis of the Bronx.
