Morrisville State men’s golf third at NEAC Fall Challenge

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Morrisville State College men's golf team competed at the two-day North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Fall Challenge Friday and Saturday, finishing the event in third place with a combined team score of 671 strokes.

The event was held at the Cobleskill Golf and Country Club in Cobleskill.

Layne Martin (Findlay, Ohio) led Morrisville State with a total score of 161 strokes, tying for fourth overall behind two day scores of 79 and 82, on the 70-par, 6,163 yard course.

Darren Young (Woodstock, Ontario) tied for seventh overall, having a combined shot total of 163, while Brandon Davis (Fayetteville, N.Y.) finished in 11th with a score of 165.

Cody Holmes (Fort Ann, N.Y.) and Jesse Pflaumer (Elba, N.Y.) were fourth to score for Morrisville State, posting a two-day total of 186, to tie for the 19th overall individual place finish.

Tyler Bliss (Liverpool, N.Y.) rounded out all Mustang competitors in 22nd position, shooting 195 across the two day event.

Cobleskill won the event, with a combined score of 616, also finishing second with their Team "B" with 662 strokes.

Penn College was fourth with +121 par with Keuka in fifth with +172 par.

Morrisville State returns to the field next Tuesday, traveling to Elmira for the Fall Invitational.
