Morrisville State men’s golf resumes schedule, finishes fifth at Keuka Spring Invitational

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – The Morrisville State College men's golf team resumed their 2015-16 schedule Wednesday, competing at the Keuka Spring Invitational held at the Lakeside Country Club in Penn Yan, finishing fifth in team standings with a combined score of 342 on the day.

Darren Young (Woodstock, Ontario) finished in a three-way tie for individual medalist honors with a +4 on the par-72, 6,549 yard course. Young, who registered a 76 stroke score, tied with Mark Lesinski and Pauley Pitcher from Daemen College, who claimed the overall team victory after placing three within the top-10 individual finishes on the day.

Brandon Davis (Fayetteville, N.Y.) tied for 17th after finishing the course with a 84, while teammate Brad Hefner (Billings, Mt.) registered 90 strokes on the day to finish tied for 27th.

Layne Martin (Findlay, Ohio) and Cody Holmes (Fort Ann, N.Y.) rounded out Mustang scoring for the match, finishing in 32nd and 37th overall with scores of 92 and 99, respectively.

Morrisville State will return to the greens Saturday, April 23rd at the NEAC Championships held at the Cobleskill Country Club.
