UTICA, N.Y. – The Morrisville State College men's golf team competed at the two-day Utica College Fall Invitational over the weekend at the Yahnundasis Golf Club in New Hartford, finishing ninth overall in team standings out of 11 competing teams.
Senior Brandon Davis (Fayetteville, N.Y.) was the top finisher for the Mustangs, tying for 15th individually with a score of 161 across the two-day event on the par 71, 6767 yard course. Davis shot an 80 on day one, following with an 81 on day two of the event.
Cody Holmes (Fort Ann, N.Y.), Jesse Pflaumer (Elba, N.Y.), and Brad Hefner (Billings, Mt.) were the next three to finish for Morrisville State, finishing 46th, 47th and 48th respectively as one stroke separated all three. Holmes posted a two day score of 184, Pflaumer 185 and Hefner 186.
Tim Vara (Rochester, N.Y.) rounded out team scoring with a 54th place finish, compiling a combined score of 193 strokes over the two days.
Morrisville State returns to the fairways Wednesday at the Lakeside Country Club for the Keuka College Fall Invitational.
