Morrisville State golf resumes action, finishes 8th at Keuka Spring Invitational

PENN YAN, N.Y. – Morrisville State College men's golf resumed the season's action Wednesday at the Keuka College Spring Invitational, finishing in eighth overall out of nine competing teams at the Lakeside Country Club in Penn Yan.

Morrisville State compiled a team score of 352 on the par-72, 6,549 yard course, with senior captain Layne Martin (Findlay, Ohio) leading the way with a score of 85 for an individual 19th place finish.

Brad Hefner (Billings, Mt.) shot +15 on the course to finish tied for 27th, while teammate Cody Holmes (Fort Ann, N.Y.) was just one stroke behind with a score of 88 to finish tied for 30th.

Nick DeVito (Averill Park, N.Y.) and Dane Moore (Cadillac, Mich.) rounded out scoring for the Mustangs, compiling an 18-hole score of 92 and 105 strokes, respectively.

SUNY Cobleskill were match champions after shooting a 315 (+27) on the day, with individual medalist Shawn Westridge leading all golfers with a score of 73 (+1 par).

Morrisville State returns to the courses Friday at the SUNY Cobleskill Invitational held at the Canajoharie Golf Country Club in Canajoharie.
