Morrisville State eighth at Elmira Spring Invitational  


MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Morrisville State College men's golf team competed at the Elmira College Spring Invitational Tuesday, finishing eighth overall with a combined score of 409 strokes at the par-72, 6,687 yard course at the Elmira Country Club.

SUNY Oswego was invitational champion, combining for a score of 320.

Sophomore Nick Devito (Averill Park, N.Y.) paced the Mustangs with a score of +23 on the 18-hole course, shooting a combined 95 strokes to finish 28th overall, while teammate Joseph Lane (Elba, N.Y.) compiled a score of 104 strokes, finishing +32 par.

Dane Moore (Cadillac, Mich.) also shot a 104 on the day, while teammate Daniel Golba (Buffalo, N.Y.) finished with a score of 106, +34 par.

Christian Vella (Rochester, N.Y.) rounded out the Mustang scoring with a combined score of 128.

Morrisville State returns to the fairways Friday, competing in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Championships, hosted by Penn College in Williamsport.
