MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Morrisville State College men's golf team wrapped up the 2017-18 season this weekend, competing at the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Championships with a fifth place finish among nine competing teams.
Morrisville State posted a two-day combined total 692 strokes on the par 71, 6,583 yard course at the Williamsport Country Club hosted by Penn College in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
Junior Brad Hefner (Billings, Mt.) led the Mustangs efforts with a two-day total of 162 strokes, scoring an 80 on Saturday and 82 in today's competition. His efforts secured a spot on the NEAC All-Conference Second Team.
Ryan McCann (Hamilton, N.Y.) finished tied for 16th, one spot out of all-conference recognition, after shooting a 167 combined score.
Layne Martin (Findlay, Ohio) wrapped up his senior season scoring third for the Mustangs, finishing 24th overall with a combined score of 171 strokes, before Nick Devito (Averill Park, N.Y.) rounded out Morrisville State scoring with a 34th individual finish.
Penn St. Berks claimed their first NEAC title, finishing atop the conference with a two-day team score of 630 strokes. Penn College followed in second with a score of 638, winning the tie break over Rutgers University-Camden who finished in third with a two-day total of 638.
Cobleskill was fourth with a combined score of 654.
