Geswaldo honored with 2016 DIII ECAC All-Star accolades

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced its 2016 Division III Metro/Upstate Men's Lacrosse All-Star selections, naming Morrisville State College senior midfielder, Louie Geswaldo (Lafayette, N.Y.) to its second team.

Geswaldo led Morrisville State in his final season in scoring, posting 38 goals and adding 24 assists for a total 62 points on the year to pace the Mustangs to their second straight regular season title in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) and NCAA Division III Championship Tournament bid.

Averaging 2.38 goals per game and 3.88 points per game, Geswaldo set several milestones throughout the season and come career end is ranked first in the Mustang record books in three scoring categories, including goals (122), assists (78), and points (200).

The senior is also ranked second all-time in man-up scores at 14, adding three in the 2016 season campaign.

Geswaldo finished 2016 with a 77th overall ranking in all of Division III in points per game.

A four-time All-Conference selection for the NEAC, Geswaldo was named the Rookie of the Year during his freshman campaign, earning second team accolades, before taking home first team honors and the conference's top award as the NEAC Offensive Player of the Year in 2016.

A graduate of Lafayette High, Geswaldo earned his degree in residential construction before returning to pursue an additional degree in wood products technology. He is the son of Vicky and Louie Geswaldo of Lafayette.
