Catalfano collects NEAC Defensive Player of the Week honors

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced its weekly award winners in the sport of men's lacrosse, selecting Morrisville State College senior goalkeeper, Tyler Catalfano (Rochester, N.Y.) as the Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending March 19th.

Catalfano posted 23 saves in a triple-overtime loss on the road at SUNY Oswego midweek.

The senior combined for 13 saves in the third and fourth quarters alone, before adding a total six (three in the third extra frame) in the overtime periods for his game total 23. On the day he posted an 8.47 goals against average in nearly 71 minutes of play, allowing 10 goals.

Catalfano currently ranks second in the NEAC in save percentage (64.4) and is second in saves (38).

A graduate of Greece Arcadia High, Catalfano is majoring in human performance and health promotion at Morrisville State. He is the son of Nicole Catalfano of Rochester.
