MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Morrisville State College men's soccer team captured a 4-1 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) victory over visiting Wells College Saturday afternoon on Drake Field in Morrisville.
The win gives the Mustangs a 14-3 overall record, and 12-1 NEAC stint, as they await post season tournament information announced by the conference office.
Morrisville State took the 1-0 lead 14 minutes into the contest as Alan Peckham (Webster, N.Y.) headed the ball past Wells keeper Owen May on the corner kick by Joe Sheehan (Liverpool, N.Y.) for the score.
That lead held until the second half when an own goal by the Mustangs evened the contest at one a mere five minutes into the frame.
Morrisville State regained the lead at 61:53 as Sheehan put home his 16th tally of the year on a one-timer off the initial blocked shot by Griffen MacWatters (Ballston Spa, N.Y.).
Kossi Philipe Nodjo (New York City, N.Y.) put the game out of reach for Morrisville State in the final 12 minutes, posting back-to-back tallies on one-timers sent into the box by Moo Kpor Mu (Buffalo, N.Y.) and MacWatters.
Senior Eric Berglund (Elmira, N.Y.) recorded the win in net with two stops.
May finished with seven saves for the Express.
