MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announced its 2016 Division III North Men's Soccer All-Star Team Tuesday, selecting three from Morrisville State to its first team.
Sheehan, a first team North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) selection, led Morrisville State in scoring this season from his forward position, netting 19 goals and assisting seven for 45 points.
Five times on the season he posted the game winning tally, including over RIT and Wells, and twice he registered hat tricks with 3 goals and one assist performances. In all but four games on the year, Sheehan posted at least one point as he led the high powered offensive unit that averaged 3.75 goals per game to rank third overall in all of Division III in goals scored, and fourth in points per game (9.95).
The two-time All-Conference selection was named the NEAC Offensive Player of the Week, ECAC North Player of the Week and NSCAA Player of the Week on October 18. He was a 2014 ECAC Second Team selection.
Sheehan wrapped up his final season as the top ranked player in the conference in goals scored (19) and points (45), ranked second in assists (7), and second in game winning goals (6).
He ranks 10th overall in Division III in goals scored and points, while ranking 14th in game winning tallies, goals per game, and 15th in points per game.
Peckham started in 18 games for the Mustangs at center back and controlled the back line for Morrisville State.
On the year he posted one goal and three assists and took charge of the defensive unit that limited opponents to a .105 shot percentage and 22 goals on the year, along with a 1.10 goals against average.
Peckham, a four-time All-Conference selection at defense, is a three-time first team selection to the Division III ECAC North All-Star Team.
MacWatters appeared in 17 games for the Mustangs at midfield and posted eight goals and five assists for 21 points in his first season. Twice on the year he had game winning tallies, including wins over Lancaster Bible and Penn College.
The freshman earned ECAC Rookie of the Week honors on October 4. His play on both ends of the field created havoc for opponents as MacWatters often was the play maker in the midfield in the transition game.
A first team NEAC All-Conference selection, MacWatters was also named the 2016 NEAC Rookie of the Year.
Morrisville State claimed its third straight NEAC regular season and championship title in 2016 behind their 12-1 conference record, also making the programs fourth appearance, third consecutive, in the NCAA Division III Tournament. They wrapped up the year with a 16-4 overall record.
