GENEVA, N.Y. – Senior Byron Evans (Cazenovia, N.Y.) led Morrisville State College men's cross country team to a fourth place team finish Saturday at the Cross Country Outdoor Championships held in Geneva, finishing second individually in the 8K race.
Evans crossed a mere 12 seconds behind the individual winner from SUNY New Paltz, posting a time of 25:46.8 among the field of 145 total runners.
Andrew Blue (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) scored fourth, collecting a 53rd individual finish with a time of 29:21.9, while teammate Owen Braun (Fulton, N.Y.) rounded out team scoring with a 60th individual finish, posting a time of 29:46.7.
Morrisville State returns to the courses next Saturday at Hamilton College as a tune-up before the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Championships the following weekend in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
