MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) office announced its Cross Country weekly award winners Tuesday, naming Morrisville State College senior Byron Evans (Cazenovia, N.Y.) the Men's Runner of the Week for the week ending October 16.
Evans, a three-time selection by the conference office for the weekly honor, was the runner-up and top NEAC runner at the CCOC Championships hosted by Hobart and William Smith on Saturday.
In the 8K event, Evans posted a time of 25:46.8 to place second overall in the field of 145, a mere 12 seconds behind the individual winner, and lead Morrisville State to a fourth place team finish. The men's team finished fourth overall out of 15 teams competing at the event.
A three-time all-conference selection, Evans is majoring in automotive technology at Morrisville State. He is the son of Merry and Jim Evans of Cazenovia.
