Morrisville State softball splits Day 2, falls to Keystone 9-0

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Morrisville State College softball team split the second day of action in Myrtle Beach, falling to Keystone College by a 9-0 final in five innings.

Brianna Martin (Apopka, Fla.) and Allison Chase (Weedsport, N.Y.) were the lone Mustangs to collect hits on the day, each going 1-for-2 from the plate.

Brittany Keator (Roxbury, N.Y.) recorded the loss on the mound, throwing two innings and allowing five earned runs on six hits. Keator also recorded a strikeout before being relieved by Allison McGuire (Gilboa, N.Y.) for the final three innings. McGuire allowed three earned runs and four hits, while posting two strikeouts.

Keystone jumped out to a 6-0 lead after two innings and added three additional runs in the top of the fifth to collect the win.
