MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) office announced its 2018 Softball All-Conference Team selections today, naming Morrisville State College sophomore catcher, Emily Vesely (Johnson City, N.Y.) to its third team.
Vesely led Morrisville State from the plate with a season total 26 hits, five of which were doubles, as she posted a .338 batting average across the season.
The sophomore transfer recorded 10 runs, eight RBI's and three stolen cases across the season. As catcher, she started all 26 games for the Mustangs, recording 93 put outs and 18 assists for a .974 fielding percentage.
Three times on the year her efforts led to a double play for the Mustangs, and eight times opponents were caught stealing. Twice on the year the sophomore went 3-for-4 from the plate, collecting two runs in each contest, and another time going 3-for-3 from the plate within conference action against Cobleskill.
She currently ranks first in the NEAC in runners caught stealing.
A graduate of Johnson City High, Vesely is majoring in horticulture business management at Morrisville State. She is the daughter of Sheila Crocker and Steven Vesely of Johnson City.
