MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Morrisville State College Athletics Department has announced its weekly award winners, naming junior Jordan Anderson (West Edmeston, N.Y.) and freshman Alysha Hardy (Orange, Mass.) the Mustang Athletes of the Week for the week ending February 21.
Anderson paced Morrisville State women's basketball past Cazenovia Friday night, netting 13 points while dishing out five assists and collecting five steals.
A majority of her points came in the first quarter (10), including the milestone 1,000th point as she stepped to the free throw line with seconds remaining on the clock. With the made shot, Anderson became the first in Morrisville State women's basketball history to reach the milestone mark.
The junior is a graduate of Unadilla Valley High and is majoring in human performance and health promotion at Morrisville State. She is the daughter of Wendy and Steve Anderson of West Edmeston.
Hardy collected 14 team points as an individual rider on Sunday in the western equestrian team's double show win, as she registered two blue ribbon rides in the intermediate II western horsemanship class.
Seven of her total points across the day contributed to the team's high point team accolades, positioning them for another run at the Regional Championship.
The freshman is majoring in equine racing management at Morrisville State.
