WILLIAMSPORT, PA. – Freshman guard Tori Rockefeller (Bloomsville, N.Y.) posted a team high 18 points Sunday afternoon to lead the visiting Morrisville State College women's basketball team to a 59-47 defeat of host Penn College in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
With the win, Morrisville State splits the weekend action and improves their overall record to 15-7, 10-5 in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) action.
Rockefeller went 7-for-13 from the floor, hitting 50% from long range as she converted three of the team's total six three's, also adding three steals to contribute to the win.
Morrisville State held the slim 34-28 advantage on the glass, with Walker leading the way, followed closely by Marissa Woodard (Unadilla, N.Y.) who snagged six, two on the offensive boards.
The Mustangs led 34-29 at the half, before going on a 12-2 run to claim a 15 point lead with two minutes to go in the third quarter, limiting the hosts to just four points in all in the 10 minute frame.
Morrisville State dominated the paint across the contest, outscoring the Wildcats 26-10, and held the significant 25-2 advantage in bench contributions.
The Mustangs return to the court Wednesday, hosting Wells College at 5 p.m. in a rescheduled match from early January.
