MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Colonial Hockey Conference (CHC) announced its weekly award winners for the final time in the 2016-17 season, naming Morrisville State College freshman forward, Renee Stevenson (Winnipeg, MB) the Rookie of the Week for the week ending February 19.
Stevenson scored twice in a 2-0 win over Johnson and Wales University on Saturday to lead Morrisville State back to the league's tournament for a second straight season, finishing with an 8-4 record to earn the second overall seed.
Stevenson's first tally came eight minutes into the second period for a 1-0 Mustang lead, adding her second and final Morrisville State tally four minutes into the final period on the power play.
She finished the contest with a +2 on ice rating.
The freshman is a graduate of the University of Winnipeg Collegiate High and is majoring in health related studies at Morrisville State. She is the daughter of Aldyne and Greg Stevenson of Winnipeg.
