Aarvik repeats as CHC Goaltender of the Week; Ujcik named to honor roll   


MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Colonial Hockey Conference (CHC) announced its weekly award winners Monday, selecting freshman Karoline Aarvik (Trondheim, Norway) as the league's Goaltender of the Week for a second time this season.

Aarvik repeats the accolade for a second straight week, after assisting Morrisville State women's hockey to the 2-0 sweep of Johnson and Wales University in the league's opening weekend.

Across 102:12 minutes of action, the freshman posted a total 19 saves for a .950 save percentage and 0.59 goals against average.

On Friday she registered 12 stops for a .923 save percentage as the Mustangs picked up the CHC victory. Aarvik followed with a seven save outing in 42 minutes of action on Saturday, allowing no goals, while earning the win.

The freshman is a graduate of Strinda Vgs. in Norway and is majoring in business administration at Morrisville State. She is the daughter of Jannicke Naess and Oddbjorn Aarvik of Trondheim.

Sophomore forward Jessica Ujcik (Munich, Germany) earned honor roll recognition from the conference as well for her performance across the weekend, as she paced the Mustangs with two points in the sweep.

On Friday, she collected an assist on the game-winning tally that came on the power play advantage late in the second period. Ujcik followed with a goal in Saturday's 5-1 onslaught, the first of the day a mere 44 seconds into the contest.

The graduate of FOS BOS Rosenleim is majoring in individual studies at Morrisville State. She is the daughter of Roman and Korinna Ujcik of Munich.
