MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Colonial Hockey Conference (CHC) announced its weekly awards for play through Sunday, January 28, naming Morrisville State College's freshman netminder, Karoline Aarvik (Trondheim, Norway) the league's Goaltender of the Week, while Maddison Devlin (Campbell River, British Columbia) earned a spot on the honor roll.
Aarvik posted a 1-0-1 record on the weekend behind her .962 save percentage between the pipes. The freshman appeared 124:56 in net, allowed two goals across the weekend and collected 51 saves for a 0.96 goals against average.
On Friday she turned away 29, 16 in the opening period alone, as Morrisville State held SUNY Canton to just one goal en route to the conference 2-1 win.
Aarvik followed with a 22 save outing on Saturday in an overtime tie with the Roos, registering 13 of her game total stops in the second period.
Devlin snagged one of three honor roll spots with her on-ice performance across the series with SUNY Canton.
The sophomore posted both scores in the victory on Friday, finishing with a +1 on-ice rating after putting home a power play score, and the eventual game winner minutes into the third period.
Morrisville State currently sits second overall in conference standings, and will host Becker College this weekend for a two-game CHC showdown.
