MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Colonial Hockey Conference (CHC) announced its weekly women's hockey award winners Monday, selecting Morrisville State College freshman Karoline Arvik (Trondheim, Norway) as the goaltender of the week for a fourth time, and for a second straight week. Freshman Alexziz Giannamore (Pittsburgh, Pa.) earned honor roll recognition.
Arvik posted two shutouts over the weekend in a two game series sweep of Nichols College within conference play. In all, the freshman tallied 31 stops in 119:32 of action for a 100% save percentage and 0.00 goals against average.
On Friday she posted 17 saves in net, before adding 14 more on Saturday, including nine in the final period of action in the 1-0 decision.
The freshman is a graduate of Strinda Vgs. in Norway and is majoring in business administration at Morrisville State. She is the daughter of Jannicke Naess and Oddbjorn Arvik of Trondheim
Giannamore led Morrisville State with two goals for two points over teh weekend. On Friday she sealed the win with an empty net score late in the third, then followed with the lone score in the 1-0 decision on Saturday.
She finished the week with a +3 on-ice rating.
The freshman is a graduate of Freedom Area High and is majoring in business administration at Morrisville State. She is the daughter of Kim and Adam Giannamore of Pittsburgh.
