Morrisville State women’s soccer picked eighth in preseason coaches poll   


MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announced its 2017 preseason women's soccer poll Wednesday, slating Morrisville State College to finish eighth overall, as voted by the women's soccer coaches conference wide.

The Mustangs finished 7-8-1 overall a year ago under direction of head coach Amanda Fancher, completing their conference record with a 6-7 stint.

Morrisville State returns two of its top three scorers from last season, including Kelly Brennan (Sauquoit, N.Y.) who collected 12 goals. Jessica Adam (Avoca, N.Y.) also returns to the Mustang midfield, after posting a three goal, six assist season in 2016.

Defending champion, Penn St. Berks, topped the poll after garnering 13 first place votes, while Lancaster Bible earned the second overall pick.

Penn College, SUNY Polytechnic and Penn St. Abington rounded out the top five.

Morrisville State gets underway Friday, September 1 on the road at SUNY Oswego.
