MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announced its player of the week honors in women's volleyball Monday, naming Morrisville State College defensive specialist Samantha Wolf (Liverpool, N.Y.) the Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending October 23.
Wolf, a two-time selection for the honor, helped lead Morrisville State to a 4-0 week that included three conference wins, as she compiled 55 digs across four matches.
Averaging 4.08 digs per set across three conference matches, Wolf started with 16 digs in a 3-1 victory over Keuka on Saturday adding nine later on in the day's action in the 3-0 win over Cazenovia.
She posted a week high 24 in the thrilling 3-2 set win over Wells on Sunday that secured a bid to the NEAC Championship Tournament for the first time in program history as they wrapped up the regular season conference action with an 11-2 record.
Also adding 12 assists and four aces on the week, Wolf leads the NEAC in digs with 482, as Morrisville State prepares for post-season play with a 20-8 overall record.
Wolf is a graduate of Liverpool High and is majoring in business administration at Morrisville State. She is the daughter of Julie and Tom Wolf of Liverpool.
