Morrisville State women’s volleyball earns bid to ECAC Championships

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announced their 2016 Division III Women's Volleyball Championship pairings Monday, selecting Morrisville State College as the fourth overall seed in Region 4.

Morrisville State (21-10), who appeared in the semifinals of the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) tournament for the first time in program history, will take on top seeded Emerson College (17-11) at Emerson on Wednesday, Nov. 9 at 5 p.m.

The Mustangs finished the regular season third overall in the conference, and won their opening round quarterfinal bout with Lancaster Bible 3-0 before facing defending NEAC champion Gallaudet University. Morrisville State lost the battle 3-2 to the Bison.

Morrisville State will be making their first appearance in program history in the ECAC tournament. The winner of the match will advance to face either second seeded Manhattanville College or third seeded Anna Maria College on Saturday, Nov. 12 in the Regional Quarterfinals.

The ECAC semifinals and finals will be held Sunday, Nov. 13 at the highest remaining seed of the tournament.
