MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced its Student-Athlete of the Week selections in women's volleyball, naming Morrisville State College sophomore Samantha Wolf (Liverpool, N.Y.) the Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 10.
Wolf led Morrisville State to a 3-0 week, including a pair of wins that came over NEAC opponents Cazenovia College and Penn College, as the Mustangs outmatched their opponent a total nine sets to none.
The sophomore collected a total 39 digs in seven sets, for an average of 5.57 digs per set on the week.
She started the week with 10 digs in the first set against Cazenovia, before following with 15 more in the 3-0 win over Penn College on Saturday. In that same contest, she added three assists. Wolf rounded out the week's action with 14 digs in the 3-0 win over Misericordia, assisting another two.
The graduate of Liverpool High is majoring in business administration at Morrisville State. She is the daughter of Julie and Tom Wolf of Liverpool.
