MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Morrisville State Women's Volleyball team was propelled to a 3-0 win over SUNY Delhi Wednesday night thanks to solid nights from three of their young guns.
Morrisville dominated the Broncos offensively throughout the match, tallying 29 total kills while committing just 11 errors. The Broncos on the other hand were held to a negative hitting percentage as the Mustangs forced them into 19 hitting errors to just 18 kills on 83 total attempts.
Kirsten Florio (Wellsboro, Pa.) totaled 10 kills in the match, while fellow freshman, Margaret Kianka (Marcellus, N.Y.) and sophomore, Amelia Baratier (Liverpool, N.Y.) each tallied six kills in the match.
The Mustangs were also able to pick up points in their serve game. As a team, Morrisville recorded 10 aces in the match. Sophomore Morgan Florio (Wellsboro, Pa.) led the way with four aces, while Kim Dunkleman notched three.
Morrisville will hit the road once again this weekend for a pair of non-conference match ups at Utica College on Saturday. The Mustangs will open against Utica at 12 PM before taking on Southern Vermont at 2:30 PM.
