MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Morrisville State Volleyball team opened their North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) slate with a dominant 3-0 win over Route 20 Rival, Cazenovia College.
The Mustangs took control throughout the entire match holding the Wildcats to no more than six kills per set, while also putting the visitors on their heels with a strong serve game including 11 aces.
Offensively, Megyan Merrill (Millport, N.Y.) and Helena Hanes (Brockport, Pa.) led the way with nine kills each, Kirsten Florio (Wellsboro, Pa.) and Amelia Baratier (Liverpool, N.Y.) each added six, and Elycia Crittenden (Lousiville, Ky.) tacked on five. However, every Mustang who entered the game and played in the front row recorded a kill. Kim Dunkleman (Williamsville, N.Y.) distributed 27 assists while orchestrating the bulk of the offensive attack.
Morrisville will take a brief pause in their conference schedule to take on the Red Dragons from SUNY Oneonta in a non-conference tilt tomorrow evening at home beginning at 7 PM in the STUAC Gymnasium.
