Cortland’s Strong Blocking Does in Morrisville, Mustangs Fall 3-1

CORTLAND, N.Y. – The Morrisville State Volleyball team fell 3-1 in non-conference action on Friday night at Cortland.

  • The Red Dragons forced the Mustangs into 32 attack errors, while posting 17 total blocks.
  • Despite dropping the first two sets, Morrisville picked up the win in the third set 30-28, putting away 17 kills.
  • Helena Hanes (Brockport, Pa.) posted a season high 15 kills, while Kirsten Florio (Wellsboro, Pa.) added 11. 


Volleyball will return to the court tomorrow for two matches at the Cortland Invitational.  The Mustangs will square off against the Tigers from the Rochester Institute of Technology at 11 AM, before taking on the Colonels from Wilkes University at 1:30 PM.
