Morrisville State women’s cross country 3rd overall pick in preseason NEAC poll   


MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announced its 2017 Women's Cross Country preseason poll Wednesday, with Morrisville State slated to finish third overall after receiving one first place vote and 107 total points.

Head coach Derek Powers enters his 20th season with the Mustangs, and will rely on returners Raylene Wade (Red Creek, N.Y.) and Maria Miner (Syracuse, N.Y.) to lead a group of new faces that possess improved depth from last season's sixth place team.

Wade, a first team All-Conference selection, finished fifth overall during the championship meet, while Miner earned third team All-Conference honors with her 18th individual place finish.

Morrisville State kicks off the season Saturday, traveling to SUNY Polytechnic for the Wildcats short course invitational. They return home the following week to host their own invite, slated to begin at 11 a.m.
