Dennis tabbed NEAC Player of the Week for fourth time  


MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) office has announced its athlete of the week selections in men's basketball Monday, tabbing Morrisville State junior forward Kevin Dennis (Bronx, N.Y.) the honoree for a fourth time this season for action ending Feb. 10.

Dennis led Morrisville State to a 3-0 conference record across the week, collecting a total 80 points, 51 rebounds, three steals and two blocked shots.

The junior began his week with a 30 point outing against Wells, adding to his tallies 19 rebounds, including nine that came on the offensive glass. In the contest he shot 66.7% from the floor while playing only 24 minutes.

He followed with his second straight 30+ point game, netting 32 in the win over Penn College while collecting a team best 21 rebounds. Again, 12 of his boards came on the offensive glass, while appearing for only 24 minutes. Dennis wrapped up his week with 18 points and 11 rebounds against Penn State Berks, appearing for just 21 minutes, and shooting 81.8% from the floor.

On the week he averaged 26.7 points per game, shot 73.9% from the floor, gathered an average 17.0 rebounds per game (8.7 offensive) while contributing a steal per contest.

Dennis currently leads the NEAC in rebounds per game and shooting percentage, and ranks second overall in total rebounds. His 17 double-doubles on the season rank him at the top of the NCAA Division III in double-doubles, while ranking seventh in offensive rebounds. Dennis is currently second overall in total rebounds per game in the NCAA.

The graduate of Harry S. Truman High is majoring in criminal justice at SUNY Morrisville. He is the son of Monique Davis of Bronx.
